8 Days Trek M’Goun

Day 1: Arrival in Marrakech

Upon arrival at the airport, transfer to the hotel. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 2: Marrakech to Arous Bergeries (2 hours of walking)

8 am departure from your hotel to Azilal and the Ait Bougmez valley. Lunch on the road. Arrival in the afternoon in the village of Tamzrite N’Agouti where we will meet the team of muleteers who will accompany us throughout the week. Beginning of the hike to the Arous bergeries where we set up our bivouac.

Day 3: Arous Bergeries – Tarkerti Valley (5 hours of walking)

During this day, we will climb 2 passes, Oumskiiq (2900m) and Agouwri (3200m), and cross the high plateaus where semi-nomadic Berbers come in the summer to graze their herds. From the top of the passes, we can admire the rich surrounding valleys. The contrast is striking with the high plateaus that we cross. Overnight in bivouac in the Tarkerti valley.

Day 4: Ascension of Mgoun – Oulilimt Valley (8h walk)

Early departure to tackle Jbel M’Goun. We cross the fabulous landscapes surrounding it and arrive at the summit from which the view overlooks the Tarkerti valley we just left. Descent to the Oulilimt streambed where you bivouac. For those who do not wish to make the ascent, it is possible to follow the muleteers. In this case, a 5h walk day.

Day 5: Oulilimt Valley – Aïn Aflalfa (5h walk)

Today our steps will lead us to the Aïn Aflalfa spring through fairy chimneys. Bivouac near the spring.

Day 6: Aïn Aflalfa – Ait Bougmez Valley (5h walk)

After ascending the Aït Imi pass, we find the lush Ait Bougmez valley, which we descend by a steep and impressive trail. Night bivouac in the valley.

Day 7: Ait Bougmez Valley – Marrakech

After breakfast, return to Marrakech. Dinner and night at the hotel.

Day 8: Return flight

Transfer from the hotel to the airport according to the departure time. (End of our services)
